Granocean
Public sourcesGranocean builds large power catamarans in two lines. The W-Series is semi-custom, published at 60 to 86 ft — the W-60 and W-72 are established, the W-86 is listed as a new model. The X-Series is fully custom at 24 to 32 m, taking the yard into superyacht territory; renderings of a 32 m flagship have been published.
The semi-custom proposition is the point. Owners specify layout — galley up or down, bulkhead positions, cabin count — rather than choosing from fixed options. Very few yards offer that at this size without moving into full custom pricing, and it is the yard's main argument against established competitors.
Where the boats are actually built, today: Zhongshan, on the Pearl River Delta. Trade press has reported a newer Zhuhai yard of around 28,000 m² carrying roughly 4,000 m² of solar panels, with the stated intention of building the W and X series on renewable energy alone. That yard is not yet complete. Production remains at Zhongshan, where boats are in build now, and the company intends to move across in full once Zhuhai is finished. A buyer contracting in the near term should establish which site their hull will be built at, and what happens to the schedule if the move falls inside their build window.
The company publishes 'Excellence Since 1998' and describes over 25 years of building experience, with composite structural engineering done in partnership with Gurit.
