HH Catamarans (Hudson Yacht Group)
Association visitFounded in 2007, the yard did not start on its present path. Early work covered small craft and an attempt at older American-style luxury styling that met a lukewarm market, followed by a period of OEM work for overseas brands which built up its composite, structural and high-performance hull experience. The HH brand found its footing from around 2013, entering the high-performance sailing catamaran niche on the back of well-known design and America's Cup engineering credentials.
The range runs 44, 52, 56, 77 and 88 ft, all high-end, high-performance and carbon-composite.
Carbon capability is the defining strength — prepreg process, tooling, oven post-cure, five-axis CNC, and moulds themselves often built in carbon. In-house engineering is unusually deep: the engineering department has reached fifty to sixty people at peak, and while hull form and some structure still rely on overseas designers, systems, electrical, mechanical routing, interior detail and integration are increasingly done internally.
The trade-off is schedule. The yard's target was eight months; reality is one year to eighteen months per boat — driven not by any single component but by overall process complexity and the difficulty of recruiting and retaining skilled composite labour.
