NYX and FAREAST are the same builder and two different businesses. Shanghai Fareast Composites builds both: FAREAST is the one-design and racing brand, NYX is the leisure cruising brand. A buyer looking at NYX is buying from a yard whose record is in Olympic-class racing dinghies and World Sailing international class keelboats — an unusual background for a cruising catamaran, and a relevant one, because that work is tolerance-critical and one-design construction is audited for consistency.

The current platform is a 12.55 m (41 ft 2 in) cruising catamaran offered in two versions: the diesel 42C and the all-electric 42CEP. The 42CEP is published with a 40 kW ePropulsion drive and a 141 kWh battery pack, with solar panels integrated into the coachroof above the forward lounge. It was first shown as the Fareast 42C and presented as China's first pure-electric offshore catamaran.

Published material describes a production process using digitised composite and metal tooling, CNC machining and laser cutting, with tolerances down to 0.1 mm. Both versions were presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2026.
